Megabus to launch direct service between Memphis and St. Louis beginning Aug. 17

Megabus, the discount express buspany, today announced new direct service between Memphis and St. Louis, beginning Aug. 17.

Tickets are available beginning today.

Megabus will offer one daily departure to St. Louis from its arrival and departure location on the south side of the MATA North End terminal building.

Megabus also said it is increasing the number of trips between Memphis and Chicago to three daily departures.

Customers are encouraged to book early to secure $1 fares. Fares always start as low as $1 and get higher as the traveling date gets closer.

“The overwhelming popularity of Megabus inspired us to expand our service reach again,” said Dale Moser, president and COO of Megabus. “As the public continues to search for ways to stretch their dollar, Megabus will continue to deliver safe, convenient and affordable travel to Memphis-area residents.”

Megabus, a subsidiary of Coach USA, launched in April 2006 and has served more than 10 million travelers. In addition to low fares, Megabus offers customers environmentally-friendly buses, free Wi-Fi, power outlets and restrooms.
